Before 1972 the Norwegian
soccer league was divided into a northern league and a southern
league. Strange enough the winner of the southern league was declared
Norwegian champions without any deciding play off to confirm the
allegation, and the situation was the same for the Cup championship.
However
in 1972 the entire Norwegian country was united to one soccer family
involving all Norwegian soccer teams. A real All Time Table for
Norwegian soccer, leaving out the northern teams, can not be
considered correct, and consequently a credible table can only be
established starting with 1972 as the first year of real Norwegian
soccer.
This
All Time Table covers the years from 1972. Victory counts as three
points and a draw is one point. The silly 1987 season where in case
of a draw, penalty shoot out was arranged and the winner was
credited two points, has not been taken into account as well as the two
points Vålerenga was deprived of during the 1995 season.
